How UCAT Scores Are Calculated
Raw marks from each cognitive section are converted to a scale of 300β900 using a statistical equating process. The three cognitive sections (VR, DM, QR) are summed to give a total of 900β2700. SJT is not included in this total.
- βEach correct answer in cognitive sections earns 1 raw mark; raw marks are converted to scaled scores
- βTotal score = VR + DM + QR (900β2700 range, though 900 is the minimum achievable)
- βSJT is scored separately and reported as Band 1 (highest) through Band 4 (lowest)
- βDecile tables are published after each exam sitting β your score's meaning shifts with each cohort
