1. Who We Are
Applaa ("we", "our", "us") is a free AI-powered coding and learning platform for kids aged 7–20, developed and operated by Applaa Inc. We are headquartered in India and serve users globally, including the United States and United Kingdom. You can contact us at privacy@applaa.com.
2. COPPA Compliance
Applaa is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. 3. What Data We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address and display name (required for account creation)
- Subscription tier and payment status (via Stripe — we never store card details)
- Usage data: lessons completed, apps created, credits used
- Referral code (if you joined via a referral link)
The Applaa desktop app stores your projects locally on your device. We do not upload your app code to our servers unless you explicitly choose to publish to the Applaa Marketplace.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the Applaa service
- To process subscription payments via Stripe
- To track your learning progress and award credits
- To send important service updates (not marketing, unless you opt in)
5. What We Never Do
- We never sell your data to third parties
- We never show advertisements of any kind
- We never share children's data with advertisers
- We never use your data to train AI models without explicit consent
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security. Passwords are never stored — we use Supabase Auth with email magic links or OAuth (Google). Stripe handles all payment data under PCI DSS compliance.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@applaa.com. UK and EU users have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will notify registered users of material changes to this policy via email. Continued use of Applaa after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
