5 Turn over 3 Simon, an educational researcher, wanted to test the effectiveness of a computer program designed to improve the numerical skills of children in Key Stage 1 (KS1). Simon recorded the marks in two similar numerical tests taken by a random selection of KS1 children. One test was taken before and one was taken after the children used the computer program.
